Rich Hickey has over 20 years of software development experience and is the author of Clojure, an increasingly-popular computer programming language known for it's elegance and minimalism which is especially useful for developing large systems.

He is the CTO of Cognitect and designer of the Datomic Database. Datomic is flexible, scaleable and particularly good at arbitrary reading and querying, it is written in Clojure.

Hickey is a founding member of LispNYC and long-time presenter, he debuted Clojure at LispNYC in 2007.
